Chameleon HQ

The children in Chameleon HQ are supported by Mrs. Sparks, Miss Day, Mrs. Brown , Mrs Smith and Miss Mok.

Our school day starts at 8:30am and we finish at 3:00pm

Every day the children spend time focusing on their social communication and emotional regulation skills in line with their individual EHCP and SCERTS targets.
 
Each Wednesday we are joined by Cate Haynes our Speech and Language Therapist, who works with the children individually on their specific target areas.
 
Throughout the day the pupils have regular sensory breaks to ensure they are physically, mentally and emotionally ready to learn.


 

Summer Term 2022

This summer term we will be focusing on the following areas in our learning:

English: grammar, punctuation and spelling strategies

Maths:  Geometry, money and time

Art: drawing using tone, anime & origami

Science:  Electricity & light

Humanities: Wonderful World & Journeys

Design Technology: Amazing Animals & mechanical systems

Music: musical notation

Cooking: lasagna, energy bars, tomato & basil tart, carrot muffins, tuna and broccoli base, samosas, cookies, pie, cake, nuggets, cream tea & swiss roll.

Spring Term 2022

During the term we welcomed Mrs. Smith as part of the adult team. 

Our focus for the first half term was:

English           Myths and Legends
Maths             Place value and the four operations
                        (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
Art                  Plants and flowers,  drawing, printing, painting and sculptures of flowers
Science         Green Fingers planning and preparing our raised beds for planting
Humanities    We researched famous Explorers
Music             The instruments of a Samba band
Cooking       fajitas, apple crumble, parmesan chicken nuggets, biscuits, koftas, pancakes and pizza

For the second half of term we focused on:
English           Myths and Legends
Maths             Place value and the four operations
                        (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
Art                   South and Central American artists
                        clay monkeys, picture puzzles, dream catchers, murals,

                        collage and candombe drum designs
Science         Living things (Bees) and classification systems
Humanities    The Amazing Americas
Music             The instruments of a Samba band
Cooking        macaroni cheese, blueberry muffins, burgers, cake, pie, hot

                       cross buns

Autumn 2021
At the beginning of term we welcomed three new pupils into Chameleon HQ and Miss Mok as part of the adult team.

Cooking        pitta pockets, eggy bread, flapjacks, frittatas,
                       cake decorating, gingerbread and mince pies
