Friends of West Moors Middle School

Our PTFA works enthusiastically to raise vital funds for a wide range of equipment, resources, and enrichment opportunities that benefit all our learners. From enhancing our beautiful outdoor grounds to supporting learning inside our classrooms, these funds help provide additional opportunities that enrich our children’s education and make their time at school both memorable and meaningful.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment of our school community, PTFA fundraising has already supported a number of valuable additions, including:

  • An outdoor amphitheatre, encouraging performance, confidence, and outdoor learning
  • An exercise bike for the Nurture Room, promoting wellbeing and emotional regulation
  • Headphone sets for the music room, enhancing focus, creativity, and musical development

Our Fundraising Events

We proudly organise and facilitate a wide range of engaging activities throughout the school year. Each event is carefully planned to be enjoyable for the children while raising essential funds to support the school. These include:

  • The Annual Santa Wrap
  • Our Giant Elf Raffle
  • Mince Pies & Hot Chocolate Shop at the Christmas Concert
  • Termly discos with a professional, locally renowned DJ
  • Pyjama film nights
  • Our courageous Colour Run
  • Sports Day tuck shop
  • Summer lolly sales

… and so much more!

All of these events are organised with great enthusiasm and pride by our dedicated PTFA team, whose shared aim is to raise funds for additional resources that support learning, inspire creativity, promote wellbeing, and enhance our children’s overall schooling experience.

Current Fundraising Project: Outdoor Classroom

Our PTFA is currently working with great commitment to raise funds for an Outdoor Classroom, an exciting development that will create a flexible and inclusive learning space within our beautiful school grounds.

The Outdoor Classroom will:

  • Support hands-on, experiential learning across the curriculum
  • Promote wellbeing, mindfulness, and connection with nature
  • Provide opportunities for collaboration, creativity, storytelling, and performance
  • Benefit children with a variety of learning styles, particularly those who thrive in outdoor environments
  • Encourage curiosity, engagement, and a love of learning

With the support of match-funding opportunities, we are hopeful that this vision can be brought to life sooner rather than later, allowing even more children to benefit from this enriching learning space.

Get Involved

We would love to welcome new members of our school community to join our PTFA team. Whether you are able to help regularly, support behind the scenes, or volunteer at one or two events during the year, every contribution is truly valued.

If you would like to get involved, please contact the school office, who will be happy to pass on details of our next termly meeting. Meetings are open to all and are advertised in the Weekly Newsletter and on the school website calendar.

Together, we can continue to make a positive difference for every child at West Moors Middle School. 💚
